You should find that the switch is wired in series with the headlights - so they'll only come on with the headlights AND that switch on. I've moved those three switches into a centre console but didn't want to bother with the two-way rocker switch - so I've got a switch for the interior light but simply bypassed the dashboard light switch so that they always come on with the headlights. (Hope that makes sense - it's easier to think it than to write it down
)
Ian.
PS - Nice looking Landy, BTW - A year younger than mine. I bumbled about with the standard 2.5TD engine for a little while, but then picked up a 200TDI on eBay. I took a few days off work and dropped the TDI in - best modification I've made so far!
I thought it may be possible Ian, in fact most things are with a little thought and know how, cheers for the tip

that hill sucks. even my 300tdi does not like it!
G
hehe yeah, kills everything unless you hit it at some daft speed and momentum carries you up, i used to hit the base of it @ 100 + in some other cars and just make it without dropping outta 5th
Looks great!
How bout a picture of the front?
Thanks, and posting now
actually. i think it may have been today about 1 in torquay/totnes area
I was around today, not paying much attention to anything around me though as i was trying to work out how to stop knocking pedestrians over and oncoming vehicle wing mirrors due to the width/height of the Landy lol
More pics here, i took some of the front as asked and included the dog in a few although he's trying to get his Landy legs together as he spends most of his time either on my lap or pressed against the passenger window...in the back i just see the dog zipping from one side to another as i go around corners...
Dusty after his debut ride to work this morning
I took some underneath shots as well, overall she looks quite tidy but until i get underneath at the weekend to have a real good look round i thought it good to take some pics and share, at least if someone sees something i'm better educated for the future
This pic was the only concern i had when picking it up after spotting it, it's the near side front wheel arch facing the passenger footwell. After speaking to the owner, he told me he had welded a plate inside and had passed the MOT no problems. I also noticed that when i collected it, the passenger footwell was damp, so i assume that it has an issue with weatherproofing in this area and has had for some time. Personally i think it needs plating in this area within the wheel arch side as well to stop the rust spreading, advice welcome :
Few more underneath shots showing some surface rust, although i haven't given it a good look so you can see what i see without going too in depth:
A shot of the outside drivers area welded before re spray:
This shows the damage i was aware of before purchase, previous owner hit a gate post in the snow, will need tidying up to seal the paintwork again:
Last one is of the fuel cap, nothing special except for the white gooey substance around the interior of the cap, not sure what it is or what caused it, but thought it might be worth showing incase someone knows what it is:
Finally, is a haynes manual worth it? I don't want to be spamming the forums or sites with questions when i can sit n read the basics in a manual or can someone recommend a good guide ( book/manual wise ).
Cheers
