that is most likly to be the door switch. The interior light is on a switched earth and the door switch earths through the screw holding it to the bulkhead which rusts (as does the bulkhead) and leads to an intermittent fault. I would unscrew them give them a good wire brush and reassemble. That may solve you problem. If not the replacement switches are very cheap abs some stainless screws will do Wonders.
