wow those wheels/ tyres are bonkers! what are they they look very cool indeed. Do you worry at all about the VCU etc or do you think that as long as they're all the same size it shouldn't be an issue.
why is this thread titled "photo of my nightmare freelander"
you do yourself and your truck an injustice my man!
Mines not been a nightmare at all! Just thought I'd put up a photo of a cheap freelander to show what you can end up with. The only issues it's had are:-
Muddy water in the plug holes! My fault
Stopped charging, mud in the alternator! My fault
Wouldn't start, you guessed it, mud in the starter! My fault
My conclusion, stay out of really deep muddy gloopy stuff
it'll be fine
VCU? It's been fine so far. Yes I accept it'll need one at some point soon. She's only done 60k
Wheels and tyres, Kumho KL71 mud terrain 225/75/16, black modulars with about an inch offset so I didn't have to buy spacers.
2" lift, camber correction front and rear, braided hoses, facelift front and back end, rock sliders, drilled and grooved discs, Pagid pads, reclining buckets, interior overhaul, temp soft top
Just some samples! don't want too give too much away until she's finished
Stuff still to to do.
Diff bushes, on order. (flo-flex)
Polybush kit, got it but not been arsed yet.
Bash plates, in the design process.
Snorkel, as above.
Smaller back box maybe?
Receiver hitch rear, possibly front.
I think people that take the **** have never seen one in action, I took it to sibbertoft quarry, when it was bog standard. People took the ****! A few hours later they were amazed. I was chasing some pretty tricked up stuff around, it did get stuck in the deep ruts, but now I need to go back and try again. 2" lift plus those tyres has given it a lot of clearance? Ok it'll never compete with 35" tyres but neither would the gearing!
I expect a bit of **** taking for it, but do I care? NO!
