This side of there..
I have found a supplier for P38 wheel bearings but can not find any reviews. It's an American company called PFI.
Has anyone fitted front wheel bearings made by these guys ??

Can't say I've ever heard of them. I was going to say what's wrong with an SKF kit but at there is quite a price difference! :D

Many thanks...I have been assured that PFI don't supply britpart and that's what I was worried about. I have ordered a PFI, P38 fos bearing for half the cost of timken.
I will see if they last half as long and let you all know.....I just hope they don't contain any chinesium or cheese metal.

Dragging this thread back to life; @Enuff how did you get on with the PFI bearing in the end? I'm in the process of changing a NSF wheel bearing and PFI came up as an alternative to *hitpart at the same price point but potentially a whole lot better made

Fit it,if it doesn't last mega years then at least you'll know what's involved to replace it.;)

I think standing around may have done for the one I've just pulled looking at the pitting on the outer race

But yeah, it's not exactly going to be doing mega miles with me, although in saying that they are probably going to be hard miles lugging a trailer

#slooby, due to a cylinder cracking I never got round to fitting the new wheel bearing. A replacement engine is on the way to being completed, then i can add it to the long list of pre mot jobs.
How did it go for you ?

Had to break out a few tools to get the old bearing (Timken) out...

Cleaned up the housing and hub using Deox-C

And broke out my ebay special bush/bearing extractor to press the bearing into the housing and then the hub into the bearing, which went in like butter with the assistance of some ACF50:

Got to get the hub carrier off the axle to replace the lower ball joint and then fit a new gaiter to the CV joint before refitting the bearing though as they're the reason I started on this corner in the first place!
