Just wondering what the recommended repair method would be for sills in the below state?

Cut out and slot in box section?
Patch over holes?
YRM repair panels?

If YRM panels then will the patches that have been welded on by a previous owner need to be cut out as they sit slightly proud of the rest of the surface?

I would say box as there is not much left to weld to now.

but then i would always go box over standard sills as they are cheaper stronger and all round better imo but what is going to be used for?

if its only a road car maybe the yrm stuff might be easier but im sure it will cost more.

i was leaning towards the box section as i can cut out most of whats left and make sure there isnt any rust hiding in there. it will only be for green laneing and camping. ive got something more motorway friendly for going to work in.

very nice - i like the sill and rockslider in one. Just need to take a deep breath, dig out the welder (which ive never used) and give it a go. Had quotes from £1800 down to £800 for someone else to do the sills and boot floor. Just going to try myself and then pay someone else if it all goes wrong.

Go for box section, YRM stuff is awesome and replaces panels not just slip over the top like some carp out there, but I have a bad feeling from what you've said so far that you lack the confidence and skill to pull original type panels off and look good, box section fitting is so much more forgiving and a lot faster too!
