P38A Passive Immobilisation & the Ignition Barrel Light

I know its a daft question and one I can resolve with my Nanocom but before I turned passive immobilisation "off" I had a glowing "here I am" bezel illuminated around the ignition barrel. I turned passive off and I just noticed the other night that the illumination is now gone.
So, is it a designed in feature, or do I have a blown bulb?
If there is no definitive answer from the LZ forum I shall take one for the team and connect up the Nanocom and report back of course.
 
hi dan, I presume your describing the illumination bezel around ignition barell on the 2000 vogue 4.6 thor engine , this is a designed feature as you describe " so you can see the key slot in the dark " it sounds to me that you have possibly turned the feature off with the nancom ,,,, better knowledgeable people than me "although I had mine for 6 years ", are rick @ callrova or marty uk @ p38webshop .co or possibly wammers !!!!!!!!!! all three are like the Carlsberg ad "possibly the best of the rangerover forum experts ",, my take is to use nanocom to turn it on again and see if bezel lights up ??? as it may also isolate other bits off passive alarms etc etc and cause other unnecessary problems for you ,,, good luck ,kind regards mozz
 
well , mr cool man perhaps you can advise dan & sort his problem out ?????? seeing as you appear to know it all ,,, I was trying to help a fellow rangie owner here on an open forum so instead of jumping in and offending helpful forum members I really don't see the relevance of your sarcastic post , or is it that you really know F***k all , regards mozz
 
Just to settle this discussion, the key illumination light is not controlled/ configurable within the BECM or tied to Passive Immobilisation. It's on the same circuit as the footwell lamps, so, in the case of the OP, it's a blown bulb or poor connection.

Well done, Mr Bean! Just the information required. That is the relevent diagram for the 4.6 THOR on a 2000 plate? ;):D:D:D
