Replacing the nearside window on my landy and the old locating posts are rusted on situ. Any tips on removal? Hoping to try drilling them out later but all advice much appreciated. Trying to sort it out by Sunday as on Coast to Country rally.

They will be fused in with rust. Lots of penetrating oil and hitting them up and down unitl they move, can you turn them with the nut? Geting them hot would help but its almost impossible unless you have an induction heater.

Power cutter with a narrow blade and try to get above the nut. Even then as posted they’ll be seized with rust-bish bash bosh time with a hammer. They look badly seized.

I think the trick it hitting up and down and side to side on the nut until you get some movment, you could try hiting with torque on the nut too. You are trying to break the rust without breaking the door! Mine were solid but with a lot of pentrating oil and lots of hiting. When they came out there was lots of clearnce, but it was jammed with rust flakes.

Thanks to you all. Overnight WD40 and and a bit of bish bash bosh and they are out! Cleaned the holes out and new window fitted. Cheers Landyzone folk for the advice and encouragement.

Picked up the 6mm laminate that were missing from mine today...have made both panes sliding in door tops...new glass makes others look crap so at 10€ for these think I'll replace others...
