Hello everyone,what a great forum.I have just bought a 97 P38 DSE everything is as it should be except the heating,the passenger side works okay but my side either blows cold or hot,no inbetween and I cant control the cold or hot,seems to have a mind of its own and I'm giving it its maiden voyage to the isle of skye wednesday and it looks cold up there! It has AC but it does it when not on and the handbook symbol is lit up.Hayyellp!

Does the handbook symbol show as SOON as the vehicle is started?? If so it will be one or more of the blend motors. They are buggers to replace but something you can do on your own in a weekend. Before carrying on though, as I said, does the book symbol appear as soon as you start??

Sounds to me very much like the dreaded blend motors have given up. Try moving the temp. controls from min. to max. & back again a few times to see if it clears. Set of blend motors will set you back around £150, don't want to frighten you with the fitting cost at the main stealers. Have a look on Range Rovers -there is a load of stuff on the subject. An Independant with Rovacom or Autologic can tell you in a few minutes if the motors are working and sending the feedback and can also move them from the software.

Just an afterthought, if you purchased through a dealer, is it possible to get it fixed under warranty??
