Hi guys I can't open my passenger door from inside or out and the latch just moves up and down with no resistance

I've taken seat out but how do you get the door card off I can't get to that little screw by the tweeter
Try just taking the surround off of the inside handle (pull the handle and there is a screw behind it, if not already done), there should be a thick wire cable/rod with a plastic ring attached to the handle, it may have come off (happened to mine), but it shouldn't have gone too far. If this is the case, try fishing it out and give it a pull, it should open the door.
Wont work if door is locked
Sorry, didn't realise the door was locked, just that it wouldn't open
So glad we sold our P38's, I prefer being back to basics with my tired old Disco 1

When I use the inside and outside handle I can see them working on the latch but nothing and the latch just moves freely up and down

First of all check the plugs at the base of the passenger A post behind the trim panel.

If it is stuck super locked the lock is isolated from the inner and out handles and the door cannot be opened from inside or out.

so if its superlocked its a case of cutting the striker or breaking plastic clip with long screwdriver?

Providing there is not a wire disconnected or bad connections on the plugs i mentioned earlier. Logical progress.

Connectors and see if you can squirt electrical cleaner on the bottom of the actuator where the microswitches are. Anything to get it off superlock!
And then never press the lock button twice again. And preferably pull the superlock motor out of the actuator. It is the smaller one on top.

I never pressed the superlock my battery went flat and the passenger won't open and the window is not working properly either goes up fine but needs pulling down while pressing the button
Do you have a working remote?

yes my remotes working but cant sync it to the car all doors lock with the key bar the passenger door

Passenger door working now cut the striker and stripped the latch all working fine now but still won't start

Need diagnostics before you go any further on that I think.

Yes think so but it's finding someone to hire or pay them to come look at it with diagnostic
