passenger and drive lock issues- defender 90, 1991

I had the exact same problem with my drivers door lock last month, and was dreading stripping down the door to get to the linkages, as they are a pain to get on and off, turned out to be the simpleist fix of all time! it was just the interior locking knob sticking down, a quick squirt of duck oil on the black plastic locking knob and job sorted! I'm not suggesting this is the same fauly as yours but gotta be worth a go?

Dazz, that may have resolved my drivers lock issue. I applied dw40 all over the lock and stuff, and It had never worked better! Sometimes my door does just unlock tho, when im driving about. Hmm. But the passenger side, no joy, I tried all the DW40 god gave me. Ill try a good lock from my other door and see what happens

update:

Hey I got my locks today. I replaced the pass. door lock and it locks perfectly fromt he outside. But, when I try to unlock it from the outside it wont unlock, and is stiff. I can see that the door knob thing is being push towards one side. (wher emy finger is, I can move this bit lef tto right easily. It seems that the pressure is being exerting to the base of the catch where finger is, and it is being pushed towards the bonnetside of landy, and wont push up and unlock the door.

Any ideas, similar problems etc? If I hold the plastic knob straight, catch or whatever ya call it, it works fine! I tried to use some cable ties to keep it straight, but that doesnt work at all. hmmm
