So Friday night I managed to reverse into a low wall. No major damage but the parking sensors no longer work.
Here is a photo of the damage.
The sensor was actually hanging out so I pushed it back in. I think that may have been a mistake but it's done now.
So when I put the car into reverse I get the normal beep to let me know I'm in reverse then a long continuous beep (slightly different tone) after which no sound but the button by the driver seat is flashing. I get no clicking from any sensor after it's gone silent (or even before as far as I'm aware).
I'm assuming that it is just the sensor I have broken but what I'd really like to know is whether there is anything else in that area that is parking sensor related that I could have also damaged.
I've found a thread on here about drilling the sensor out rather than removing the bumper. Anyone had any joy with that route as it sounds like it might be a little prone to causing more damage to me?
