Hi all, a friend has an issue with his MY2014 D4, every time he selects reverse the audible warning sounds even when there's nothing behind the vehicle (so he has to switch it off every time which he says is now becoming a PITA).
Can anyone tell if this is more likely to be a sensor problem the wiring to it or the parking module itself (or all three if he's unlucky :)).
Would someone be kind enough to let me have the resistance readings for the sensors please & I will start there. Thank you in advance, all the best.

Plus 1 , with regards to handbrake off , selecting reverse with the ign on should hear them clicking , best to choke the wheels if on a slope

another issue can be if there’s a tow bar fitted , some can cause issues

best to get a code reader on there as that will also help

as it’s before 2016 something like a basic Autel AP200 in white are very good in reading codes and live data as indeed with these vehicles being so complicated a code reader is really a must

also found a link to that code reader

Amazon product

hope that also helps

Many thanks for that, I doubt he'll fork out for a reader as he knows absolutely nothing about mechanical/electrical stuff on vehicles even though I've told him he'll get his money back twice over (if a garage was fixing the problem).
I have my Foxwell NT530 I can plug in & see if that shows anything but I'll stick me lug hole to each of the sensors first off & listen for said clicking. Thanks again & I'll let you know how I get on, all the best.

ur so welcome

indeed as we all know thry pay for themselves very quickly , particularly with the amount of electronics in a D4

very handy u have a Scanner , indeed an easy way to test by listening to them

hopefully it’s just one of the sensors and not the loom , if I remember rightly it’s normally the off side rear that fails but at least u can confirm that for him, plse also ensure they’ve not been accidentally turned off which can happen if a tow bar has been fitted

indeed, plse let us know how u get on
