Panel gaps...is there such a thing as perfection?

I've spent the best part of this afternoon trying to align my doors and various body panels (110 station wagon). I have got them ok-ish but not perfect. I then realised it is possible to alter the bulkhead using spacers/washers. There were two on each side, which i thought was correct. Now there are there are three on one side and none on the other and it sits much much much better. Is this normal? Having said that it ruined the alignment on the doors which i will need to do again!

Is it normal for the body panels and doors not to align perfectly? At one stage I was intent on shoving the whole thing in a massive crusher!

Completely normal. Setting them up properly takes a long time but is well worth it.

Does anyone know where I can find dimensions between a-pillar and b-pillar as well as b-pillar and c-pillar/tub?

seems most gaps have a tolerance of 4mm !!!!!!

To be honest I don't really care on my 90, just as long as doors shut on seals properly, and gaps are reasonably parallel.

Take note of the superb alignment and panel fit, a true credit to the manufacturer

Have a look on YouTube. Mike @ Britannicaa Restorations has a good video about setting door gaps.
Can't remember 100% but I think it's like 34.5 " on the front doors.
Although, to be honest have you ever seen a defender that is used that the door gaps look perfect on?

I saw his videos but I could only find a 90 truck cab. Still very helpful. I didn´t know you could tip the bulkhead for example so will need to try that as well.
