Guys, I need to install a pair of rock sliders to prevent people denting the doors of my 90 with their doors all the time.. The paint of my truck has still got a nice deep metallic shine to it, not sure if that comes through on the photo:

I don't want to spoil the look, so was considering painting the sliders the same colour as the truck. I will have to repaint the doors anyway because of that sort of damage. Does anyone have any pictures of sliders painted and on the truck? Any kind of advice coming from experience is appreciated!!

Leave 'em black. Not cause it'll look any better or worse, but if they're gonna take the knocks you can do a quick respray to cover it over, won't need to match colours and you'll have much less faffing and preparation .. :)

I would second this, I end up painting mine every couple of years for this reason. You will also find that the piece of bar next to the drivers door that you stand on every time you get in will quickly wear down to bright metal!
