Painting rivets

I was looking at a few 110 rebuilds and I notice that when they are being built back up after painting the c pillar has to be fitted with black rivets unless it's a body on spray job I was just wondering could you get the rivets sprayed body colour and fit them using the air riveter so they don't get damaged but look perfect as they match the body colour??

Well my 110 has painted rivets on the nearside and unpainted ones on the offside, and that's from the factory.

the middle part will not be painted where it breaks off and the face still could be damaged.

How would I stop the damage to the face? The bit that breaks off is a hole anyway lol

perfection isn't worth it.

if you try to perfect everything then you'll be making the job much more difficult and increasing the chance of failure.

it will rust and deteriorate, it will get scrapes and dents. it will break.

it's far better to finish a good job then have a never ending perfection project, imo

I cut a small square of bicycle inner tube and pushed the shaft of the rivet through that before putting it into the gun.

This was more to stop the gun bouncing across the new paint but it may prevent damage to painted rivets also.
