To remove the wing mirror - according to the workshop manual:

Remove
1. Release cheater panel (plastic cover on inside of door), disconnect 2 tweeter speaker connectors. Remove cheater panel.
2. Disconnect mirror multiplug.
3. Remove 3 screws, remove mirror.

Looks quite straightforward - even I could probably manage this one.

Hello did this one some years ago (removed and replaced the plastic outer only)

It took me about a hour to found out how to do this, the mirror section is held in by two interlocking clips, that you can get at this by first placing a screwdriver into the side of the mirror section (side that faces the door)

Remove the mirror, unscrew the motor section, and you can then see how the outer section is made, the overall case will slip off the main support, re assemble in revers order, place the mirror section back in starting from the side that faces away from the door, push the mirror in (be carefull not to use too much force) or you will snap the final interlock clip.

You could go down to a scrappy and have a look at a damaged one, just to get a feel of the job

Your a star! Exact as described! For anyone else for future referance:-
  1. Slide mirror glass sideways (against a spring) from the car window towards the outside
  2. unclip heated mirror wires on rear of glass
  3. 3 small phillips scres to remove motor mount
  4. 4 black philips that holds the mirror case to the mirror frame
  5. Close mirror (towards window) and theres a black phillips from underneath mirror case upwards
  6. The mirror casing/housing will now wiggle away from the mirror frame...
Lots easier to colour code and no masking at all...

Thanks Guys - just a quick one. Does anyone know a good place to pick up Range parts?

Especially I am looking for some wing mirror casings?

As both wing mirrors work fine (no cracked mirrors etc.) but the casings are scratched....

Many thanks in advance.
