Hello
I own a 2.5 p38 diesel range rover

I had a problem with fuel puddling in the well of fuel injector no1 closet to bumper

My local mechanic changed the leak off hoses and changed the injector

It is a lot better but there is still a small amount of fuel bubbling in the well

I took the car to another mechanic who reckons it’s a crack head and wants £1000 in labour plus parts not sure how he thinks that

Is it possible for fuel to come up from the fuel injector to puddle in the well ??

Or is still a small leak from the black leak off pipes

Thanks Tony

I doubt it's a cracked head, that is not where they crack. Most likely the replacement leak of pipe is NBG or the pipe union is not tight. If the there are bubbles, the injector may not be tight. or the copper washer was not replaced.

Thank you very much for the help

What does NGB pipe mean ?

New washer was used

I will try and tighten the fuel injector tomorrow

This is new to me so I guess I loosen the loose union with fuel pipe and move to one side and just use a box spanner over the fuel injector and give it a turn

Sorry if I sound vague just newer removed or replace a fuel injector

Thanks Tony

You can get a special injector spanner, a box spanner may not pass the leak off spigots, not sure about that.

As above. Doubt it is a cracked head but if sooty it might be blowing past the copper washer on the injector.

Thank you so much

I will get a socket for the tool box

No bloody good hose 👍

Strangely when the car is cold the NBG leak off hose is hard to pull off but after driving when engine is hot I’ve discovered it just slips off

Looks like it’s leaking from the NBG leak off hose

Thanks for all the help
Tony
