Thank you Mark .I'll have a look for the company I used when I replaced my stereo. I had to by a speaker line adapter to reduce output from the stereo. I didn't bother with the steering wheel controls as I didn't want to run into any technical issues as just having the newer system was just all I needed.

I start about halfway through it and go through the whole 9 yards of Ray Ambler pi attenuators, the PAC Audio steering wheel control adapter, bluetooth adapter, reverse camera, diversity radio and finally got my Kenwood head unit working with the factory speakers, antenna, subwoofer and CD changer.

Actually... as you will see, it's marty_nz that I owe the success of the project to as he walks me through the entire process so that even someone with my level of knowledge in electronics ("Don't let the red and black ones touch!!") came away with a totally working, entirely reversible aftermarket head unit installation.
