Hi My 97 4.0 Rear Washer Has Never Worked,i Tried Cleaning With A Pin.the Front Work Ok.is There A Seperate Tank Or Pump?thanks Paul
[have sold the trusy old girl after five and a half happy and mechanicaly trouble free miles......... /QUOTE]
Haven't had mine long but hope to get more than 5*½ miles out of it. Lets hope the disco is better!
Did this one last week, pump from ebay for 7 quid (they are all the same - colour coded on the genuine ones). Don't need to take the bumper off , though you will get a wet arm, reservoir is under the off side headlight. Unclip plugs and pull out the pump, it is clipped into the reservoir.
Check the motor first by changing over the plug from the windscreen motor (check RAVE) and push the stalk. Easy Job !
there is also a nonreturn valve by the back near side light that can fail (its tiny)
Sounds like the motor though, mine was completely knackered, now an MOT faliure I beleive.
Yup, they actually locate by clipping into the moulding on the reservoir it's self, so gently lever it out forwards, if there is any fluid in the reservoir it will run down your arm into your armpit.
But the front ones f*cked as wellNot if you empty it with the front one first

Use a straw then you have never emptied a fish tank with a tube then
You go for the wet arm i wil keep mine dry
Thanks guys : I'm doing a number of jobs ( including front air bags, water pump and thermostat) and just looking for all the shortcuts going. I can probably live with a wet armpit....might even be an improvement.
Run out of booze? you will drink anything daan souf. Mind you fish tank water probably has more taste to some of the flat gnats p*ss I have had to endure down there. I was glad when I'd had enoughUse a straw then you have never emptied a fish tank with a tube then
