It does sound like your accumulator is at fault. I changed mine a couple of months back for the same reason - 40 seconds to reach pressure from start up & was running every second brake application, although my brakes seemed fine but leave it & your pump will eventually burn out which is a whole lot more expensive to replace. The accumulators are a known failure item (the nitrogen charge wont last forever) but are easy to replace.
 
Yes thank you Mr Wammers, I did indeed take notice of what you wrote earlier, I was just clarifying the point, accumulator, pump or both?

I will go with the accumulator.

I will go with the accumulator.

With ignition OFF. Pump brake up to 30 times to ensure all pressure is gone. Unscrew accumulator dip your finger in the hole it came from and lube the O'ring on the new unit screw on nip up. Switch on and see the difference. No need to bleed system.
