Hello all, i went to get into the car today and it would not open with the buttons on the key so i tried the key in door and only the drivers unlocked.
When i opened the door the alarm sounded indicators flashed and "engine disabled" when i turn key in the ignition??
So i tried to re sync the key in the drivers door but no luck at all, weirdly occasionally when i turned to lock the central locking "clunked" around the car?<i now believe the car was in eka code input because i turned the key four times>
I foolishly bought this car without really knowing what to look for specific too the p38 it only had one key drove well and only seemed to have minor problems and has not let me down once until today!
I recently put new batteries in the remote it worked and its been fine for a few weeks.
I also don't have the eka code i am currently waiting for a land rover dealer to call me back the nearest to me is 20 miles away

its a 1995 p38 2.5 dse and i am near devizes wiltshire

any help is greatly appreciated!!

It has been sorted for now at least! i went back to the car earlier and unlocked the drivers door with the key, this time when i opened the door the alarm did not sound so i put the key in the ignition and it threw a load or errors for some reason i pressed the unlock button with the ignition on and hey presto the doors all unlocked and it started! i the n got out and the car now locks and unlocks using the fob!!
i also now have the eka code from land rover.
Thanks for your help guys.

I'm based over in Swindon. If you need a hand or get stuck again then drop me a message, and I'll help where I can.

I have full P38 diagnostics including BECM programming capability and am over Devizes way occasionally to help out another P38 owner there aswell.

Glad you are all sorted for the moment though :)
