Hi folks, one side done.
The hub wasn't too bad to get off this time as I gave it a good coat of copper grease when I did the oil seals a couple of years ago but the swivel pins were tight. After a good bit of heat they finally came out and the new ones went in easier. The centralising tool worked a treat ,dead easy to adjust the height.
Thanks to Davy for giving detailed progress on how he went about it.
Only problem I had was with the top joint, the screw decided to turn when I had the nut about half off (The taper decided to free itself) and the hexagon in the screw was about as much use as a chocolate tea pot as it is very shallow and the 6mm. allen key only went in less than quarter of an inch and couldn't stand up to the torque-had to grind the nut off. The bottom one is very snug to the axle yoke and I couldn't get the ball joint splitter in so gave the yoke a good clout with the hammer and the hub carrier dropped off. Recommend giving the bore of the carrier a tickle with a flap wheel to get the rust off to make hub fitment easier.
