didn't think of the slide hammer cheers
Has anyone got any old front hub assemblies with U/S bearings taking up space they need, if I can obtain a set I'II keep set on the shelf with new bearings fitted...
Are the rear wheel bearings only available as hub assemblies from LR as well, if so I'II do the same for the rear hubs...
Rears are the same don't forget all four are handed !
Is the F/N/S the same as the R/N/S and F/O/S the sams as the R/O/S or are they all a different design on each corner?
I've not had to do any P38 wheel bearings as yet...
As far as I know all differant, so how much you thinking of a refurb unit ?? I was going to but not needed any yet , darn shouldn't of said that
It really depends on how long it takes to change the bearing, I have press so its only a matter of pressing the old bearing out and fitting a new one.
Island 4x4 List a N/S/F, O/S/F Hub Assembly and a Rear Hub Assembly, they list a Timken bearing for the front axle at 77-00 GBP, but don't list a rear bearing, so theres a good chance all the wheel bearings are the same bearing, depending if I can source a Timken bearing cheaper.
The price of a bearing>time (remove bearing/cleaning the housing/fit bearing/new snap ring (if required)/spray assembly black) /Package & Postage.
110-00 GBP approx a corner + a surcharge if the hub housing is broken...
How does that sound???

The front hubs are indeed handed, Part nos: L.H. FTC3243 R.H. FTC3226 .
The rear hubs are the same part (Are identical both sides) no. FTC3223.
The same bearing assembly is used in all four hubs (Front & Rear)-part no. FTC1507.
Remember that the new bearing does not include the circlip/snap ring-this should be available from a good bearing stockist separately if you break it or need one. Can't see it listed on Microcat. You will need the bearing O/Dia. in order to get one.

Try contacting Joe at Emmots or Tom at Roverviews for starters...they may have a couple knocking around which they may consider having dodgy bearings.
+ 1 on that but bear in mind he wants £45 for a usable one so I'd expect to pay around £15 they don't like giving Anything away![]()
tell me about it wasnt just referring to EC:behindsofa:
