P38 eka code

Hi all
I've recently bought a p38 2001 4 ltr v8 it was working fine until Friday the key fob stopped working so unlocked with key then when I went to start, came up with alarm fault engine disabled, have got eka code worked fine started up all good but if you leave it locked or unlocked when you come back to it you need to use eka code as it forget the fobs so please any suggestions where to go first.

Does the red light come on the fob?
You might need to resync fob to the car

Yes red light does come on and all locks and unlocks fine on fob.

Ok that's a good start. It will immobilise after 30secs then you'll need to press unlock again

Hi how do I go about resync keys to car can I do it with a nanocom? If so were is best one to get and which model.

put the key in the door, press and hold the lock button. turn and hold in the lock position until the light stops flashing. repeat with the unlock button and turning to the unlock position
you might need to repeat a few times but you know its done when the central locking activates

you're actually rotating the planet under the p38 thats why it costs so much

For that year model it should also sinc through the ignition barrel. If i am correct as mine is 2000 model and does.

it should, if the coil works and the antenna hasn't been unplugged
i've had to do it on mine in the past, even though mine is a 2000
