There's nothing wrong with coil springs if you are willing to spend proper money on a decent set. About 4 times the price of the cheap **** most garages fit to "repair" failed air suspension. You can also have them made to your own spec. I have used these guys for BMW track springs before. Excellent. You need to research load ratings etc. I would not recommend anything as spongy as bearmach.

Apart from removing a built in safety feature of course. Or making your lights illegal if the arse end is loaded. You don't "repair" air suspension with coils you ruin the bloody car.

I have to agree that it's sacrilege to put Range rovers on coil springs. It makes me sad to see nice looking cars advertised with the blurb "Coil conversion so no more expensive problems" I would not buy a Rangie on springs no matter how nice the rest of it was. There really isn't that much to go wrong.
