P38 diesel leak

Hi, I am new to this specific area of the forum, having not owned a Range Rover for some years.
I recently bought a '97 DSE that looked to be in sensible shape; this am drove it about 5 miles and stopped at a service station, and in the space of minutes a pool of fuel had formed on the forecourt? It is clearly coming from an oval shaped part of the injector pump housing, there is a steady flow of diesel from here, and the nuts are definitely tight. Any suggestions please

Is it possible spill pipe could be leaking but making it appear to be coming from injector pump...?

If it's leaking from bottom of the pump(timing piston cover), then it can be easily sealed by replacing O-rings.
But beware not to loose the spring and adjusting washers. If it wasn't touched, it's very likely to leak in other places(hardened seals) when you seal it, hence why it's better to replace all rubber seals.
The sealing set for those pumps is BOSCH 2 467 010 003.
It's not recomended to do it yourself if you don't know what you're doing.

Thanks loads for that- if oval cover with two nuts is that timing piston cover, I will get that set ordered and fitted by mechanic
