If you had given him the part number you first quoted and your car is after Vin WA409249 roughly around 98 on, it would have been the right one. Before that Vin STC2296.

You sure that a Fiesta filter will give enough fuel flow for a bigger thirstier engine?
Yep, similar size filter and pipes and same bore. Runs just fine

The entire fuel filter holder housing?
Removed the header that the filter screws into and used some fuel pipe and clamps to fit new filter. You can use a large jubilee clip to hold filter to bracket.
It was something like this one
