Aww poo. Thanks for your helpNo. Diesel and petrol are different.
Hers a question, if you were to place a clock assembly with kilometers into a car with miles stored in the becm, what would happen? If you change instrument pack it will also take the highest mileage, if the replacement set is from a higher mile car it will up your mileage to that.
What is up with your set?

This isn't something I would consider, because regardless of the results my mot would mark it as inconsistent mileage readings and as it excepted with mile reading there is no gain.
But.... What do you reckon?
Has anyone done it before?

Mileage or kilometrage is recorded in both the instrument cluster and the BECM, you get a message if the two don't match and the system updates to the highest figure. I have often wondered what would happen if I swapped the settings from miles to kilometresI think the kilometres / miles is set in BECM. I am guessing only number stored in odometer so you might put a shed load of miles on!
Don't know for sure though.
