p38 dash/clocks

hi my p38 dse the clocks/speedo have packed in i can get another set easy enough but the rangey they came out of had totally different mileage if i put them in my car will the ecu reset it with my mileage or will i need to pay to have some one correct the clocks for me

your milage is keeped in your becm, you should just be able to swap them.

The mileage is kept in the BECM AND the instrument cluster, if you change the cluster the mileage will default to the highest mileage stored either in the BECM or the instrument cluster

or as i have seen the becm or clock pack adds them together mega miles then

i m not sure and dont know what 2 believe anymore. i changed mine , the mileage on t new unit was lower by 22k. plugged it in hoping that my original mileage would appear , but it didnt, its showing t lower one with a message on start up odometer error, i will get it plugged in and get t genuine mileage up sometime.

I read somewhere it defaults to the higher setting on the clocks
