P38 cutting out 'gearbox fault'

Hi Guys, after some advice.

Driving the other day the engine cut out loosing all power with the message 'gearbox fault'. Pulled over and restarted and this happened another 3 tinmes one after the other??

Also have been getting an intermittant SRS light.

Any ideas?? Am to scared to drive it at present!!

Its a 96 4.6 HSE

That normally happens when battery is low, or has a loose connection or earth, or a dodgy alternator, Sam

Petrol or diesel? If the engine actually stops whilst the vehicle is moving, it will give a "Gearbox Fault" so you can probably ignore that. Need to find out why the engine stopped, get the faults read.

Its a petrol. Will try and get ,y mechanic to read it. Thanks

New battery...... But to no avail. Still cutting out

My mate had this problem

The problem was a dodgy relay.

He switched the relays around to find the faulty one.
