I would just like to share with anyone having the same problem as i did. my RR stopped working within the space of about 5 minutes when i popped into a garage. absolutely bewildered i searched the internet until i found this forum and thank f**k basically because every garage/mechanic i spoke to didn't wanna no! Where as i explained ,y problem and thanks to a member called 'Fanatic' and a little company in cyprus called black box solutions my beast is running again. If when you turn your key to stage two ignition and the 'CHECK ENGINE' light does not appear then you need to re-sync your BECM to your ECU this sounds complicated but takes about two minutes. So hope this helps someone. If you live in Kent and are not to far away I don't mind popping round and letting you try mine because i no just how frustrating it is and the garages just wanna rip you off. Again thanks to Fanatic

hi all new to this forum i've searched the net and come across this thread seems to be the same prob i'm having ,i know this sounds stupid but can anyone tell what i need to buy from black box solutions to sort my prob and what it entails ?
thanks

Guys,

I have a similar issue - everything works except the key won't actually start the car. The previous owner wired an start button that connects into the relay socket. I turn the key and push the button - works fine.

Could this be caused by the resysnc issue too?

Steve

i would say the wire for starting would of been taken off the key barrel and used on the push button

No, the start button wires are completely separate. As far as I am aware no wiring changes to the original starter wiring have been made. (this I will double check as I investigate further.)

So, taking it that the above as correct - could it be a resync issue?

I have just had the same problem and I purchased a Sync mate from Black
Box Solutions plugged it in and after a few seconds the car started.
I have a 2000 4.6 vogue with the Motronic engine so if anyone is having the same problem in the York area give me a PM and we can sort something out.

HAving just read this thread I thought it might be an idea to start a sticky where people with syncmates could post if they dont mind helping people in their area out
Im in Hastings East Sussex and have syncmate for thor engnes.
What about it admins???

thanks for the replies
okk i've brought the sync-mate and it hasn't worked not sure where to go from here ,when the problem 1st started i thought it was the starter motor and was disconnecting the battery terminal a few times and it would start then it got worse checked starter and that was fine so then checked relay box and found the heater relays had blown and damaged the box so got another and the car started wiv a jump not quite right though as the lift never worked then following day it wont start again this is when i got to the sync-mate idea now i wondering if i've done anything by keep disconnecting the battery in the 1st place? outta ideas now and not sure where to go from here can anyone advise me ? thanks
oh and brought a new battery to start wiv as well

When you turn your key to position 2 do you get the 'engine check' light up on the dashboard?
If you do then everything is in sync.
If you don't then the BBS box will sort you out.

If you do but the engine doesn't start then you've got other problems.
If you need more help it might be an idea if you told us what engine you've got.

And your location in your profile, there just might be someone who lives around the corner with the tools/parts, who is willing to help you.....:)

I'm not going to offer because I don't know where you live..........I might if I knew roughly where you lived......

right no i dont get any check engine light at all and the bbs box wont work i plug it in it goes blue then red then off :-S
and i'm in chatham ,kent

On mine the Engine check light was still correct but the Becm EMS code was incorrect. You need someone who can check this for you with a Faultmate etc.

finally got it sorted turned out i was right after all it was the fuse box, the fuse box i'd brought off ebay was worse than the one i took off :-s
