Thanks for that.the ram your looking for is called a low height cylinder, they are made by enerpac, fookin expensive new!
That's like the kit I used to do the swivels on my 2 P38's. I did have to fabricate an extra ring though so maybe that kit is a little different. Plus Gas around the joint 24 hours before doing the job and if you have an electric heat gun available, it may make them come out easier if they are very tight. Make sure the adjuster the bottom swivel fits into does not move, I mark the position of the slot before I start and put the new swivels in the deep freeze for at least 24 hours before fitting.
The price! Could use two of these for every joint and probably save a fortune lolThere's something different about the official Land Rover tool
Tis beneath me to rise to the baitVery good advice Keith. They’ve been in the deep freeze for a year. Not even got a P38 to put them on anymore but they’re still in there. Definitely padded room behaviour, Sort of thing that Kermie’s cell mate would do!
It’s seems pretty HD kit, not completely won over by the spacers but with an assortment of Landy tools bound to have a compatible HD socket that would fit. Someone here promised me it was correct one for P38, Alan maybe? Was cheap too got it on sale.
Completely forgot about the heat gun, lent it to my mate never saw it again. Other thing Mark advised me on was plenty of lubricating oil (insert RuberKnees 1 liner) on the threads as you are tightening - he knows what I’m like for snapping things
I’ve just done mine. Needed a ball joint splitter and a draper 19mm ball joint fork. You will also need a g clamp press, plusgas and heat probably. Pretty simple job with the correct tools.yea it's the upper and lower hub balljoints
