P38 Air Suspension Pin Stuck

Hello all, first post here
Today I attempted to remove and replace the front air suspension bag from my 1996 P38.
I managed to disconnect the top of the bag with no problem whatsoever however the bottom of the bag which is secured to the axle with the r pin is another story!
The r pin is stuck in place and will not budge!

I have tried soaking it for a few hours with WD40 but no avail, I fear I may snap the pin
As you will see in the pictures, the pin has bent with trying to move it.

Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas that may help?

get some mole grips on it and try twisting it and hammer the mole grips to remove it new one are cheap and u shold fit them with new air bags.if you have to detroy the plastic base to the airbag its no biggie

Last ones I did needed the mole grips and hammer job .
After the compulsory blood blister/pliers job !
Some times it's a nail bar and Bf&I

Plusgas better than WD40. Sell it at Eurocarparts.

Get a lever under the old bag, the pin will shear off. You wont be reusing either.

The Disco 2 did have an easier design to remove and have wondered if it was after they discover the P38 design was such a PITA.

Always budget for new R clips when doing the air bags!

Exactly what I did on one of mine.

For the others I made this tool from an old mini paint roller. Keeps hands nicely away from hitting anything !!

I'm confused! Is this P38 fronts? If so there should not be a R clip but an L shaped pin with a securing bolt.

Look at the second picture @Datatek, looks like the pin has bent out of shape.

Yes the pin has been straightened, the eye is there and you can see the threaded hole for the retaining bolt.
