What does the mirror do? Auto dip and not return..... Might be the BECM? Sometime the controls invert, sometime they do not work for 2-3 attempts. All very frustrating.
As a very rough fix, you might consider setting it to the required poistion and then unplugging the electrics. I have not tried this, but you might be able to unplug the mirror control wires and "play" with a 12v feed to see if you can operate the motors. This is assuming the motors are 12v.
