Finally received our beloved P38 back from insurance approved garage, nice job they have done. however the car has a gas conversion and they have run the car till empty on unleaded. they drove the car away but brought back on trailer? hmmm. my wife as bright as she seems signed all ok, (ie paints lovely) small damage to body trim was the only reason for the insurance claim.
when she tried to start it fires then immediately cuts, she rings me listen to the engine turn over (F&*K S%$*E) stop i shouted, on the way home i picked up a couple of gallon juice and duely filled the car, the misses tried to start the car but clicking sound from starter: only the misses pointed out the dash says gearbox fault! im shaven headed no hair to pull out, so got battery starter box, hey presto ran perfect, stopped engine after 5 mins again restarted perfect happy bunny, took for trial run..........oh dear pressed the gas button which normally is on all the time the engine cut...would not start unless button switched to petrol only, usually when the bonnet is open you hear clicks ie the gas injectors working now nothing, so start on petrol, engine showing half way on temp, switch to gas on tickover still running for 30-60 seconds then the clicking starts and stops straight away, switch back to petrol starts ok.
has anyone any ideas could the battery running low affect the gas sensor?
iv had the vehicle over a year now and already had the gas conversion nothing ever like this before, i have contacted the garage and Lee the mechanic will contact tomorrow, finger crossed this is something small, wished i kept my series 3 now
