Looking at a Fairey Overdrive on Facebook, does this look normal or are there 'teeth' missing here?
Thanks.....

So I went ahead and got myself an Overdrive. Bearing in mind that this is a long term project, and there is no engine fitted at the moment, can anybody help with the dimensions from the back of the Transfer box to the centreline of the Pivot bolt. I suspect that mine is an 'Aftermarket' job and doesn't seem to sit right! Thanks in advance.....

That's odd. Yours looks like the one I got with an OD I bought and haven't refurbed or fitted yet. Apparently they should look like this.

Here's another like ours. I wonder what car they're meant for?

This chap on eBay sells copies which look pretty good. I bought the lever from him and it's very nice indeed, but I'll just extend my mount plate to about the right place, unless you get an answer on here of course!

Bearing in mind those overdrives were fitted to Series One, Two, and Three, and to four and six cylinder vehicles, I imagine there are a number of different control linkages in circulation.

Ha, that was going to be my next question 'boguing', I can see where there was some welding done on mine so it looks as if both were shortened. Just roughly fitting it the pivot was in under the seatbox.....

Those two short ones look like they would put the lever out through the seat box front not the tunnel side. My OD bracket (like the long one) has two locations for the lever about the distance apart that matches the difference in the 4 cyl and 6 cyl lengths.

This looks like a Range Rover OD, the Fairey one for a series is longer both front and back with a longer linkage rod too.
