chaos my fairy is leaking out if top right casting-looks like a hole, should it be bunged?
ps I just fitted remote breather to cover plate so I know it's not that causing leak

Is that the part that supports the rear of the selector shaft? Should have a pressed cap on iirc. Shaft slides backwards and forwards so careful to leave enough clearance if you bung

does the OD have a breather as standard or this just compensating for expansion due to cold water hitting it...? I don't remember mine having one...

looking at part manual the selector shaft rear has an oring, I fear this may be causing the leak!

RTC7166 ordered on ebay-hoping the seal is in the kit!

seal kit fitted:

remove overdrive housing lid to expose selector mechanism screw

remove screw totally from selector and also the Alan screw in top of housing

shaft should then push all the way back exposing worn o-ring:

replace o-ring using some good lube so it doesn't go in dry,

remove end cap on other end to expose another o-ring:

replace this one too, grease and bolt back up
jobs a goodun
