Overdrive gearlever problems

I've got a 78 series 3 with Fairey overdrive fitted. The overdrive selector has usually popped out of 'deselected' into neutral when I've gone into reverse gear - never really been a problem to me. Now it's increasingly popping out when I'm in 1st and even 2nd (not all the time though). Anybody any idea's how to rectify?

I don't really know, but I thought that you'd only use the overdrive in 3rd and 4th anyway?

don't think he is using the o/d at he time ross, the o/d unit has 3 positions, in out and neutral, and i think what he means is it is pulling itself into neutral when its out

sounds like the o/d might be worn, you used to be able to get a service kit for em, wesley is the man to ask

There aint really a lot to go wrong on them chap. I reckon its a wear problem myself. I haven't seen a service kit for a while either. Have a word with the guys at www.landroverorphanage.com
They may be able to point you in the right direction regarding a service kit.
