yes it was the driver . you have to rev the engine hard when towing. warter pump not doing the job at low revs. it is a fault on the 300tdi engine. i e 50 mph in 5th gear with caravan on tow. solo run all day ok

Is it ACTUALLY hot ? Can you check engine water temp other than temp gauge.Is there a Voltage stabilizer on disco 300tdi ?
