output shaft bearings

Got a bit of play in my rear output shaft bearing,just replaced the oil seal and noticed a bit of play on the shaft,any tips on replacing the output shaft bearings.

what sort of play? up down/side to side or rotational?
some rotational play is normal

The play is up and down and side to side,not a lot of play but you can see and feel it.
