brazing seems more like soldering to me

nothing wrong with brazing ,i used to do a fair bit ,i have oxy/acet bottles and kit but havent done gas welding for years,migs much quicker

soldering is under 600F and over is brazing. Gas welding is melting base material and or adding filler rod

Yep its a distributor , I hadn't actuly seen under the bonnet just what I had been told .
Anyways a few more photos drives starts sounds like a dream
