Ou er what a difference

Well i got a decat pipe today tis was promtly on the car but i decided to remove and clean the inlet manifold as well as it was really gunged up after a soaking with coka cola ( works the dogs baws btw) i put it through my parts washer (the dish washer) and it came out shiny ( this is best done when she is out btw) all back together and i was amazed how much more responsive the old girl is must have got back 15 horses well worth rhe time and effort plus 40 buck for the pipe

Was it an easy enough job to get the inlet off etc? and how much did the gaskets cost ya?

Yes very easy job first remove rubber inlet hose from the top front of the manifold then the one from the turbo as you need it out the road remember the little breather from the turbo inlet, there are two nuts and two bolts holding the inlet manafold on they are easy to access with a short extention two top ones are 10mm two bottom are 13mm undo these and just lift it out the way my gasket was fine and did not need replacing but it would make the job harder if you had to replace it as its a one piece for the exhaust aswell meaning you would have to take the exhaust manifold off too no great hardship but exhaust stuts can be a cock gasket would be cheap i think ,you need to wear gloves for the next bit as it gets real messy use a long bottle cleaner and some petrol and scrape the biggest chunks of crud off then fill with some sort of degreaser i used coke it works ok but is much cheap let it soak then another rinse in petrol/thinners then in the old dish washer you might not want to do that if not you will just have to do it by hand fitting if reversal of removal make sure there is nothing left in there as loose bits could cause damage !
