Yes orch :5bcheers2:

D2 are so badass when modified, just looking at the thing gives me bad wants!

It does make me lol though, we take a perfectly nice car and #### it up :p

However, Mudzillas, I'm listening :5bbigear:

Haha, cheers dude :D

Yeh I know you mean, I bet the previous owner would cry if he saw it now, he clearly polished it A LOT when he had it.

My Dad also likes to remind me what a nice family car it was everytime I'm plugging the grinder in

Yeh pretty settled on the Mudzillas now. Tyres are something I obsess about constantly. I hate to think how many hours I've spent interwebbing on tyre sizes and brands in the last couple of years. I had to flick through pretty much every feckin page of your build thread (for about the third time :D) to find out what your pitbulls were by the way

Dead chuffed I think I've found a source for 16x10 in D2 fitment. Some pretty hefty offset though so hope me bearings are up for some grief!

Although I attempted to plant the 'new set of wheels and tyres seed' with the missus last night. Didn't go down as well as hoped, so might take a while. Although I think I have a plan, she doesn't want me spending another four digits on the car when I'm supposed to be getting the house ready for sale, so I'll just buy them bit by bit. Arches first, then the wheels, then a single tyre each month. I reckon I'll get as far as the first tyre before she's screaming to get them out the house. Well ok luv if you insist I'll just get on with it :p

sounds like you have a good plan orch

have you checked garageand4x4/extremeoffsetwheels.co.uk for your rims

thats where mine came from years ago

seem to be the only people supplying -50 offsets

also regards tyres, i looked for some more pitbulls recently, not too bad at not much over 200 dollars each

but to send two tyres to the uk?

estimate 800 dollars shipping, plus uk import tax

ouch

Yeh extremeoffsetwheels is the one I found too. Nice and deeeeeep

Jesus christ! Just tell them the bloody boat is coming over anyway, just sling the tyres on top FFS

I know what you mean though, I was looking at some stuff in Aus that would be good deal if you didn't have to pay three times the cost to get it over here.

I really want some longer shocks but the +3 terrfirmas I have are the longest I can find off the shelf for a D2. Only thing I can really do is get something like Bilstein 6100/7100 shocks and fit adapters, but that means importing them so gunna be well into four figures.

Nothing to report on the mod front unfortunately, trying to reign in the credit card a bit. But lots of mud today

still changing my mind on tyres anyway

Cheers Greg. Nothing rekindles the love like a day out slinging mud!

Here's a little vid, nothing too exciting but shows the exhaust off quite well lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pfBWGj-MyQ&feature=youtu.be

Next job on the list is to sort the brakes out. TC got hammered hard yesterday and I pretty much had sod all left driving home. When slowing to a stop the whole rear end is crunching and shaking, I'm not even convinced there's any pads left!

ha! if only :D

I'm intrigued to know what happened tbh. Some muppet ran over the jetwash at the P&P so I couldn't give them a clean like normal. Usually I get a few miles of weak brakes then they clean up. This time was way worse but i assumed it was the lack of cleaning right up until I got the the grinding noises and big juddery vibrations from 15 - 0MPH.

Will have to whip them off and see what's happening.

Juddering could have been abs going crazy

I had minimal brakes yesterday until went through the river and then instant fix

And river was after 20 road miles

Weird

I'm stripping my front brakes tomorrow to put new slide pins on as mine have play in them so it might make the pedal firmer. Your exhaust sounds spot on, I had a quote for £90 to fit a custom straight through exhaust with side exit tail pipe.

That's from Greenwood Silencers in Rochdale it's a job I can't wait to get done. They did my y-pipe for my Range Rover after I put Hedman Headers on it and there work is spot on. Hope you solve the brake issue though.

I've adjusted my steering box and also found a loose track rod end on the drivers side so after solving those 2 issues it actually drives quite nice now I just need to sort the brakes pulling and centre the steering wheel. Then it's almost there for me at least :)

Yeh I had to put new slide pins on mine as well, most of them had seized up. Depending on how the next pay cheque looks I might replace all the discs. They've only a 1000 miles if that but grooved and drilled was a bad idea for a mud machine. Oh well, you live and learn.

Glad you're getting your niggles sorted. You know it won't be long until the next arrives though, these discos don't like giving you much peace :D

Yeah they look shagged :-( 1000 miles is shocking my brakes still pull even though I did the slide pins I have found a broken seal on the side it doesn't pull too so I think it's ceased up I'm going to replace the pistons and discs and pads. What are you thinking for replacing them. Brembo discs are only about £50 on eBay. I don't know what pads though maybe mintex or ferrodo.
