Starts fine, drives fine, no smoke I can see other than on start up from cold.. Appreciate easiest way is to get it plugged into a Diagnostic Machine, but wondered if anyone had experienced anything similar all, 2005 TD4 74,000 on the clock and FSH

Any number of little faults can put that light on. So a diagnostic is the only way to tell what it is.

If lights on and shes driving okay, have you considered bying an obd2 reader? That would give you any codes, then onto google/here to look them up. There are bluetooth ones and complete readers for a £10 note. Appreciate there very basic but 9 time out of ten they get codes. You can download software to you phone and using a bluetooth one check a lot more thsn codes.

Bizarrely, been out today and no warning light? Ah well perhaps ROY just didnt like the cold.. Still got the OBD2 reader on order as seems like a worthwhile investment anyway...

It could be the low pressure fuel on its way out. If it's cold and the fuel is thick, the LP pump could be struggling to lift the pressure to the MIL threshold.

That makes some sense.. would that be the whining noise I can hear occasionally from the O/S/R ?

Could be. It's possible the LP pump is on way out. When you're Bluetooth dongle arrives, you can use an App (Torque Lite) and monitor the live data from all sensors. You need to check the low pressure fuel pump is putting out close to 360Kpa. If it's putting out less than 300Kpa, then there's definitely a problem with the pump or filter is blocked.

+1 for the torque app - I leave the elm327 connected all the time (have one in both my cars) and have the pro app on my phone (wall less than £6 for what I can remember)

Thanks again all.. fuel pump sounds a bit rattly. Noticed whilst pumping tyres up.. need to plug this OBD2 thing in when I can locate where to plug it in LOL
