Hi. I’ve just bought one of the Optimill reversing cameras with a clip-on rear view mirror monitor.
Fitting the camera should be pretty easy but I’m not sure about powering the monitor. Any advice about the easiest route to get from the mirror location to a switched live? Ideally I’d rather not have to pull the dash apart to much.
There is the ceiling light but I think that’s always powered, not switched. Other options are the cigarette lighter or radio but I’m unsure how to route the wire from there.
If you have any tips about running a camera cable through the headlining then I’d be glad to hear those too. I hope I can just kind of pull the material back a bit at a time and feed the cable in. Hoping not to have to take everything off.
There’s a great video about fitting one of these cameras on YouTube but unfortunately it skips over all these details!
Thanks in advance.
