That doesn't look to bad, nice spec and low miles for sure.

Would want it a bit cheaper than that mileage or not. Black is a sod of a colour to keep clean. The one owner bit is a plus for me.

Worth a sniff :)

Fingers crossed its still there this time!.

These posh spec "super hippos" seem to not hang around.

Make yourself up a check list, and get the steel toe caps out! :)

Hope so Long, May even actually get to see this one!

Just need to flog my current car aswell to get funds for said Hippo :D

Hey peeps, just about to set off and go see the above freelander, will let you know how I get on with it!!

Good luck! :)

Thanks. It's a beautiful car! Slight dent in right passenger door which I wouldn't have noticed if seller hadn't pointed it out but other then that it's spotless!

Took it for a little spin which was weird as was my first time driving a landy. Got a semi-auto gearbox, 71k on clock, mot until next year and new pads. Owner says not done anything to it except when ABS went had to have it fixed.

Really need to sell my focus now and get my first Landrover, so go check out the for sale section :p;):D:censored:

Edit: electric sunroof doesn't work but that doesn't bother me personally.

Sounds good!, hope you can sell your focus quickly. In the meantime, you can geek out all possible sunroof problems :)

Hey guys already posted this in Engine section bit not getting no response so thought I'd post here too ;)

Now I know the 1.8 petrol freebies are prone to break downs/mechanical failures but what about the 2.5 petrol engines? Seen a few of these for sale but wasn't sure if they had the same problems as the 1.8's or if they are more reliable?

Thanks for any advice given.

Unless you find stripping engines fun, steer well wide of the V6 - not much better for overheating & HGF and, as an added bonus, absolutely pathetic MPG. A very high %age of the V6s for sale over here have f***d engines - so the ones that are working, won't be soon.

If you want a smooth ride, erm erm, get a diesel with new wheel bearings!

If you're looking at ones around (the year) 2000 - click back a couple of months and look out for an L Series diesel. There's less to go wrong (fewer system electronics) than a TD4 and the parts should be cheaper - eg injectors. Mind you, you don't tend to get pimped ones - which in Freelander only means leather seats and leccy back windows anyway.

£2K for a 2000 Freelander sounds like a decent price over here, but expensive for the UK!

Decided I'm going to post all my freelander questions in here from now on. Seen as 99 % of my posts are questions will just keep posting in here instead of loads of new threads.

So latest question is(bear with me)............

From what year onwards did freelanders spec improve?
For example, from 2004 they changed Y component to X component which improved MPG. Or in 2001 bodywork was altered to improve off road handling, such things as that?

Or have they not done anything and it's based on model (GS, ES, HSE) and im just been stupid?

Cheers

late 2003/2004 as you mentioned was the facelift year. Lots of upgrades on the 1.8. New dash, better lights, revised suspension options etc. Not 100% sure of all the TD4 engine upgrades, but am sure someone else can fill you in.

The facelift can IMHO be said to be a better vehicle, but not mind blowingly better.

As mentioned already. I wouldn't go there with the V6. Horrendous fuel consumption for not a lot extra power. There is a guy who got one for peanuts on here...and thats all well and good. But it wouldn't be on my list of must have hippos.
