My 300 tdi has got a miss fire at 2000 rpm under its fine over its fine any ideas ?

By the way hello everybody

Misfire pretty unusual on a diesel
Is pump timing okay?
Idle dead smooth well for a tdi anyway!
Could just be initial lack of fuel, ie worn lift pump

Lynall

i think series 71 is counting using lynalls post count to signify the amount lynall signs his name after his post ,or a waste of space trying to annoy someone who posts useful stuff ,it really is like primary school

My 300tdi had a misfire/lack of power at 2000rpm before I gave it a service, egr blank and de-cat.
You could have restricted airflow when was the last time you changed you air filter?

Maybe, James - but that is Landyzone - you either have to join in with the puerile childish banter and **** take, or bog off somewhere else. LZ has been like it for years and it is what makes LZ what it is. You either hate it or love it (and occasionally just put up with it). Personally, providing it doesnt get to be a witch hunt, I think it is worth it for all the invaluable help and advice. You have to be part of it, I am afraid.

Hi Andy :welcome2: to LZ

How bad a misfire is it? You say below 2000 it's OK and it's OK above 2000, so presumably at exactly 2k revs it misses. Please give us a clue about the band width above and below where the misfire occurs, as a couple of hundred revs makes it a bit easier to diagnose.
