Hi folks, I have recently acquired a h reg 1990 early 3.5 v8i 5 door...I'm in the process of sorting out whatever issues it has..however the bodywork is reasonably tidy..135000 miles...it runs and drives well and still has mot....I will be getting the necessary done for the next mot but I've been told it's a bit of a rarity..can anyone confirm this...how many are left?....what could its possible value be...thanks in advance

Values aren't great at the moment but many keep saying they are on the up although I haven't seen much evidence of this and any upward value may very well get wiped out as the low emission zones start to take effect. As with a lot of classics they are sometimes advertised at high prices but without an actual sale it doesn't equate to a high value and there are quite a few advertised for long periods at low prices.
The main reason I ask is the engine as there doesn't seem many about

There was a time when everyone wanted diesels with the brilliant 200tdi making the much thirstier V8 much less appealing but in recent years with all the bad press surrounding diesels etc. the surviving V8's appear to have become much more popular and strong sellers.

The 3 door is the one to have, but any D1 with the older dash layout similar to the RRC, is a modern classic. V8 id say is rare so definitely one to keep and look after
