Hi all,
Beginning to get the hang of my 90 and had some fun in her up in Strata Florida last week.
Since getting back (and not connected I think) I started to notice a slight niose coming when I depressed the clutch.....this morning did a 60 mile round trip and half way there the clutch stuck to the floor. I managed to stop and freed the clutch pedal but ever since there has been a sound every time I depress the clutch pedal (even in neutral), the closest I can describe it for the purpose of this forum is the sound of a fan belt slipping. I have carried out a little research and believe it may be a bearing within the clutch assembly which is now rotating?? Is this a gear box out jobby and if so does anyone have requisite knowledge and tools to give a hand? As before and probably again.....HELP!!!!

Are you aware that a byway is a public road, and anyone driving on it should be licensed, insured etc. ?

If you suspect its the clutch then it is a gearbox/ engine out job. When was the clutch last changed and if you know, what mileage has it done since? Might be time for a change anyway, then at least you will have a brand new clutch and can eliminate that.

@Musicman it sounds like your lift bearing is breaking up.

Pedal stuck down is often the lift arm pushed through the pivot or slave pushrod punched through the arm but the bearing breaking up could jam the clutch open and give the same symptoms and would explain the squeal.

Box or engine out I'm afraid. It's not complicated but a fair bit of spannering either way.

Most likely pushrod through the arm, I should think.

But as you say, it all need to come apart and be replaced, whichever.
