Didn't realise I had to be more specific about my job or my business but if I made it sound domestic then I guess that shows that I love my work. Thanks for your interest.

so if you claim the vat back is it not a work vehicle ?... you describe a domestic vehicle in your use of said land rover ..
will you be claiming capital depreciation on your tax return?if so at what percentage do you expect to recover each year from your taxable income?
Didn't realise I had to be more specific about my job or my business but should I ever require your opinion, then I will give it to you. Thanks for your interest.
Security! Security! Security!
Big big dog with huge teeth, tracker, and a baseball bat! pronto!
:bolt:
Absolutely. Be absolutely disciplined in your security to maximise your chances of holding on to her. Disklok, pedal lock - every damned lock and security measure you can.
And use them. That includes when you just pop into a shop for five minutes.
knobfunny if it had domestic insurance and the tools were stolen:multiply:
Back to topic....
Sweet 110!
Oh, don't forget a remap Tranforms the things totally. We went for JE Engineering stage 1 and a disco transfer box in ours
Stage 1? What does that include? I am new to LR so just don't know what all you guys do to these machines.
its a transit engine so the torque is in the wrong place for a land rover, off road the throttle response is poor and gear ranges also poor.
remapping will help get the power from the engine where you need it when you need it,basically the wagon you have is set up for the road towing.
replaceing the transferbox is not necessary with the 6 speed box and restriction to just over 80mph.
if you de restrict the mph and remap a re sort of high range gears may help but it was only really worth the hassle in the tdi powered vehicles.
I am collecting my 2005 TD5 110 CSW.
No it isn't.
Some of what he says is right though. Reprogramming the ECU will give you better torque and power figures. Around 170bhp and 275lb/ft off the top of my head for a stage 1 remap (feel free to correct me if i'm wrong).
Putting a Discovery transfer box in will increase your gearing slightly. So 70mph will be around 2600rpm instead of 2850rpm. (Again, feel free to correct me on the numbers). So overall gives you better top end, economy and less noise.

You are correct on the BHP & torque for most remaps. The swap to a Disco transfer box is not so good if you are towing.
But don't rush out spending your money on these things yet. Live with the vehicle for a while. Don't forget, most TD5 owners are perfectly happy with factory standard mapping, and spend their money on other items.
It all sounds very interesting and seems a huge hike in power from a remap. What effect does it have on the longevity of the engine?
It will stay pretty standard until the warranty has expired in a years time.
I don't see why it should effect towing, a Discovery pulls the same weight as a Defender after all. With a remap and the transfer box install, our 110 with car + trailer on the back would still leave other cars standing
